Hazel and Crackle

Barnes & Crackle Massage, established in Black Diamond, Alberta in 2007. I took my training at MH Vicars Massage School.  It is a 2200 hour remedial massage therapy program.  I am also trained in reflexology, aromatherapy, myofascial release and I am a reiki master.  My specialty is making a hybrid of all the modalities that I am trained in so that I can tailor each treatment to meet the client's specific needs.  I am always full of wonder at the magic that ensues.

I was raised on a farm in Saskatchewan. I lived and worked for some time in Saskatoon and from there I moved to the Northwest Territories, first 7 years in Inuvik and then 10 years in Yellowknife for a total of 17 years. I moved back south to be closer to family and to go back to school.

I am older, mature and grey haired. I came to massage therapy later in life. Yes, I changed my career and my life at a time when most people are thinking of maximizing their pension. I wanted so badly to do something that made a difference. I stepped across the void, the unknown and became comfortable with free falling. To spread your wings and do the unimaginable; the thing you have been pining for. I did it. It is never too late to do what you want to do. I understand this. I understand the incredible stress that changing your whole life can cause. I also understand the incredible bliss, pride and strength this nurtures. You can only touch as deeply as you have allowed yourself to be touched.

I actually did jump out of a plane and had 45 seconds of free fall. The experience of the wind rushing by (it is important to remember to close your mouth) and sheer exhilaration can be addictive for some. I think doing this helped put fear into perspective.

My name is Hazel Barnes and my trusty, loyal business partner is Crackle. Crackle is of course my dog. She is very accomplished in a number of healing modalities like love, but her specialty is reflexology of the foot licking kind.
